Why laser engraving?
Laser engraving is a permanent form of engraving and does not rub off like other methods such as silk screenings, etc. In addition, no harsh chemicals and or processes are used to apply the laser engraving. Typically only a clean surface is required to start the laser engraving process. Laser engraving is also a very precise and very professional option for engraving. With silk screening or other methods often dyes can run or complex geometry can get lost in the process, not with laser engraving.
What is laser engraving?
According to Wikipedia.org, laser engraving is, “the practice of using lasers to engrave or mark an object”. The result is a technique that is permanently bonded to the surface of the object being marked. In the case of the laser process used on all Extraordinary Buyers Inc. a special YAG laser that physically oxidizes the surface to produce a stunning graphics and wording, but with no noticeable thickness associated with the engraving.
Can you add color with laser engraving?
No. Unfortunately the laser engraving process does not produce degrees of colors such as other process. There is however, a contrast option that will allow the laser graphics to be become lighter or darker as the base material will allow. Other materials such as anodized aluminum does produce a high contrasting engraving that almost appears crystalline white in nature. Please see the photos attached below.
What are the other advantages to laser engraving?
Laser engraving is much quicker than any other advantage. With the logo and text properly setup burn time for a normal product is only about 30seconds to 1 minute. Typically time for silk screen can be minutes, if not hours to allow the product paint to dry. Laser engraving can be touched immediately after marking.

Laser engraving requires no tool contact so the engraving base material can be a relatively thin and fragile. Since the laser oxidizes the surface there is no contact pressure and therefore no damage to the engraving surface. This also allows plastics, and metals to be engraved.
Complex and multilayer images are not a complicated issue with laser engraving. Since the laser is already tied into a computer for controlling all aspect of the laser position, it is relatively simple of getting a logo translated into the necessary format for the machine. Normally logos and other symbols can be even taken from business cards or other scannable documents.
